Schieve Family | Brevard Family Portrait Photographer
Meet Mattie, Max and their Humans.
I just love it when families bring their pets along for portrait sessions.
Mattie and Max are both rescue dogs from Transylvania County Animal Alliance Group. And can you tell they are happy and healthy ?
Thimme Family | Brevard, NC Family Portrait Photographer
Now that Im finally getting caught up on life in general- Ive had a bit more time to blog some past sessions.
I photographed the Thimme Family over Thanksgiving weekend and it was a blast
Usually when you have a large family to photograph things can get a little hectic but not with the Thimmes! And their dogs, Ernie and Marshall were the perfect models. Here are a few from our session. . .

The Thimmes are big fans of the site Awkard Family Photos.

My favorite part- Ernie and Marshall are both rescue dogs. YAY

Clover. . . a little love goes a long way | Portrait Photographer
Chris and I have been fostering Clover for Charlies Angels Animal Rescue since March 25th!

Her story....Clover was left abandoned by her previous owners when they moved out of their house in December of 2010. Animal Control got a call from neighbors about the abandoned dogs on March 1st! For almost two months Clover and her sisters were left there, alone. Clover sat at the Transylvania County Animal Shelter for 25 days. I came several times to take photos of the dogs there to promote them to potential adopters- but no one had come to save shy Clover. I couldnt let it go on any longer and she came home with me.
But its been a long road to recovery- and we are still on it. For the first 48 hours Clover wouldnt use the bathroom. She was scared out of her mind. I would drag her out of her crate (her nest, as we call it today) and lay with her for hours till she was so mentally exhausted she would let out a huge sigh and finally fall asleep.
Today Clover is coming around! Her days consist of playing non stop with our dog Oliver and napping. My days consist of chasing after her when she has stolen yet another pair of socks to hide in "her nest". Clover is a pack rat who loves anything and everything soft that smells like mom and dad- she will take it back to her crate and sleep with it. Clover is still VERY shy of new people but we are working on it. She had lost ALL TRUST for humans. It breaks my heart that people can be that cruel.
The Schmertman Family – Brevard Fall Family Portrait Day
When I talked with Marissa on the phone about setting up their family's portrait session during our Brevard Fall Family Portrait Day she asked if she could bring their dog. OF COURSE!
As many of you may know Chris and I adopted a puppy back in April and he is a HUGE part of our family. Anyone who knows Chris and I knows how much we spoil Oliver! So I LOVE it when dogs come along on family photo shoots.
Maggie, the Schmertman's dog is 15-years old! And Marissa has had her since she was 10-weeks. Maggie was so excited to be at the photoshoot, tail wagging!
Toward the end of our session we let the boys roll up their pants and get in the creek. 10-seconds in the the creek and they were ready to get out! TOO COLD apparently. What boys given the option to play in the creek turn it down?!?
Mason Family….
I love it when I meet a family and right off the bat you can tell that their dogs are a big part of their lives. >>>But I knew this before meeting the Mason family.
TAAG (Transylvania Animal Alliance Group) recently held a silent auction to raise money for "Cause for Paws", I donated a family portrait session to the auction and the Mason family won the bid! I met the Mason family over the weekend to do photos of their family, including Crystal "the pistol"(2 years old) and Hank (14 years old!)!
The dogs did GREAT for portraits.
The Jones Family-dogs welcome!
I've known Mandy for a couple of years. We both taught Girl Scout troops (back when I had more free time! I miss those snot faces). Now Mandy and I see each other weekly for "puppy play dates". Yes we love our dogs--probably more than the average dog owner. Oliver, Chris and I's puppy is about a month older than Mandy and Buck's dog Roxy. Though Roxy is about twice Oliver's size now!
Mandy also does portrait photography-specializing in children!
Im so glad we were both able to aline our schedules and set up a family portrait session for Mandy, Buck, Duchess and Rox! The dogs did GREAT despite the muggy humid NC weather.

I just had to share one of Roxy and Oliver- couple of months old. My how they have grown!
