I had the honor of photographing Destiny for her 13th birthday. We ran around the Arboretum snapping model photos. I cant believe she is only turning 13! She is gorgeous and so mature for her age.

Western NC Portrait Photographer- NAPCP 2010 Photo Contest…..
My head hurts. You cannot imagine how unbelievably hard it is to select only 10 images that portray such great emotions.
Today is the deadline for the National Association of Professional Child Photographer's photo contest. And of course I waited till the last minute to select my images. I purposely waited till the last minute in order to force myself to think fast. If I had started this task three weeks ago I would have spent 10 million hours staring at photos and annoying Chris to "tell me what he thought..." of this photo and that photo. I wish I could have entered 50 photos instead of just 10. It was such a hard decision, especially narrowing it down to the last two. The images that I chose from were taken between 2009-2010. I wanted photos that portrayed deep emotions of happiness and that warm feeling you get when a smile is coming over you.

The Goding Family – Asheville Fall Portrait Day
I met the Goding Family last year at our Fall Family Portrait Day. Savannah and McColl have grown so much! You can tell they have a special bond as brother and sister. I love the way McColl would twirl Savanah's hair in his fingers while we were taking photos

Mary Grace and Ella…
This isn't the first time I've met Mary Grace and Ella. These girls are so fun and outgoing. Our photo shoot yesterday was an adventure. While carrying props across the field I stepped directly over a yellow jacket nest. As EVERYONE knows they are in horrible moods this time of year as the weather begins to turn colder. Luckily I got out alive and uninjured. Then on with the photo shoot.
My favorite part was the fact that Ella is usually such a tomboy and was not into having her photo taken but by mid-photo shoot she was posing and flaunting her stuff! Watch out America's Next Top Model.
