Isabelle’s Birth | Asheville Birth Photographer

I feel so blessed to have been part of Isabelle's birth! It is such an honor to photograph a birth. To be invited to capture such a raw and emotional time. I feel very honored every time I am hired to do a birth story.

I am not going to lie every time I photograph a birth I get so excited, I love witnessing the miracle of birth and all the emotions that go along with it. But I also feel quite a bit of anxiety- anxiety about waiting for baby's arrival, anxiety about if I will make it to the hospital in time, anxiety about who will watch my kids if I have to leave while my husband is at work, anxiety about leaving my kid's in general! But everything always falls into place and everyone is safe & sound.

WOW- Shannon rocked Isabelle's birth! This was a VBAC for Shannon. She did it and she did it well! I am amazed at how strong she was. She brought baby Isabelle earth side like it was no thing! Dad, Will, was so supportive and never left her side. I may have cried 🙂

Stay tuned for Isabelle's newborn photos in a blog post next week.

Harper’s Birth Story | Asheville Birth Photographer

Harper is here!

When Holly and Ariel asked me to photograph the birth of their daughter, Harper, I was hit with a wave of emotions. What a truly special event to capture. Holly was scheduled to be induced but Harper decided to come on her own- the day before the induction. I got the call at 3am that Holly was going into labor and made it to the hospital just in time! Holly's water broke and two pushes later Harper made her arrival- with chunky cheeks and weighing 9 lbs! Holly made it look so darn easy. Thank you Holly and Ariel for letting me capture the memories and emotions of Harper's birth.

I am happy to report that Mom, Dad, baby Harper and her 3 (YES THREE) older brothers are home and well.

I loved it that family and friends took guesses as to when Harper would arrive and how much she would weigh.

LOVE the look on Dad's face

weighing in at 9lbs!
