It’s that time of year again!  The 2013 Asheville Walk to Cure Diabetes to support the JDRF will be held on Sunday October 6th on the UNCA campus in Asheville, NC.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes research. The goal of JDRF is to improve the lives of all people affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating and preventing T1D.

My favorite 8-year old on the planet (and I may be a bit biased but he is also the cutest) lives everyday with type 1 diabetes and it doesn’t slow him down! Wyatt was diagnosed with type-1 diabetes when he was just 4 years old. It was a scary time in his (and his family’s) life. But Wyatt is a warrior and he continues to live and fight diabetes every day.

Wyatt and millions of others diagnosed with T1D need your love and support. Please consider joining their fight against T1D on October 6th, 2013 at the UNC Asheville Campus for the Walk to Cure Diabetes. If you are unable to walk please consider donating to the fundraising efforts. By doing so you can help make a difference for millions of people’s lives living with type 1 diabetes.

Last year Wyatt’s Warriors raised over $5,000 for JDRF!  I wonder if we can go above and beyond that amount this year!
