Glossy vs. Matte
Which do you like better?!? Over the years of printing photos for clients I have come to realize that you either REALLY like glossy prints or you REALLY like matte prints. But some of you may be saying “Whats the difference?”

Now when you order prints with Kaelee Denise Photography it is a required option to choose glossy or matte finish. Hopefully this article will help you make your selection.

Glossy Photos:
Give off a shiny, crisp, sharp look with vibrant colors. BUT they are highly susceptible to fingerprints and smudges. In order to remove finger prints and smudges you will need to use great care because rubbing a photo with even the softest cloth can produce scratches. Glossy photos also produce a slight glare and may be difficult to see from certain angles.

Matte Photos:
Give a more professional look. Black and white images look AMAZING in matte finish. There is little to no glare with matte finish and fingerprints & smudges are not as visible. However matte photos are not as vibrant in color and some may think the photo looks grainy in a matte finish.

Before you place your order keep in mind what you will be doing with your finished prints. Matte finish is going to be best for photos that will be framed and hung on a wall (giving off less glare).
