Did you know that 43 children are diagnosed with cancer each day? FORTY THREE!!! That could be your neighbor, your child’s best friend or your own child. My heart. None of us know what the future holds. Cancer is something so hard to talk about. It is hard enough to know anyone fighting cancer but a child is the hardest. I’ve been looking for an outlet to give back. To give my gift of capturing memories to others. I’ve found that it’s hard for me to do this as often now that my hands are full with 3 little ones. But when I first heard about The Gold Hope Project I knew I had to sign up.
The Gold Hope Project is an organization that educates, raises awareness and supports those impacted by pediatric cancer. They also link pediatric cancer patients at any stage (treatment, remission or survivorship) with photographers. These photographers provide a free portrait session for the patient and their family.
This is something that speaks deeply to my heart and I was happy to be accepted into the organization as a photographer. If you know of anyone across the US who is a pediatric cancer patient or survivor please tell them about The Gold Hope Project– they have photographers all across the US.
